... worth a thousand words.

Actual photo from a press conference last week at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills where Jose Canseco addressed a group some dude about Manny and steroids (and he, a journalist from CNBC, was forced to be there). No one from the LA Times, the LA Daily News, LA Weekly …not even La Opinión. Final count: one attendee, four cameramen, Canseco and his lawyer. So, tell me again--just how much do we care about steroids? Scott’s right: the only one making a fuss is the self-righteous zealot pounding hot-dogs in right field.

What's the slogan? "I love José"? Or is it LA? Hmmm...

But wait--Aren't steroids performance enhancing? You're putting words in my mouth here...

Nobody showed because they probably thought Canseco wasn't the most credible person to be speaking on the issue. It's kind of like inviting Dick Cheney to give us his deep insights on torture.

seems to me doping in sport continues to be cared about deeply by all ranges of people not just sports fans. (maybe i'm just saying that to validate my disciplinary field...) anyway, i think SMS is totally on the right track, most people, more importantly journo's, aren't all that interested in anything Canseco has to say anymore. he's old (unreliable) news. as well, his attempt at appearance garnering fees a few yrs back likely pissed off a lot of writers. look at the attention Manny (and his atrociously ill fitting uniform) continues to garner.

I misspoke: it was a hormone that steroid users take to reboot testosterone production. There's no proof yet of steroid use--only the hormone.
